Nexus Primary Health is a vibrant multi-disciplinary organisation providing extensive health and social support services to communities within the Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires that adjoin northern metropolitan Melbourne.

An exciting opportunity exists for an Alcohol and Other Drugs Worker to join our Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Team. The successful applicant will work within a harm reduction approach, delivering a mix of centre based and outreach services. The role will work closely with other members of the team to provide services to clients and their families where appropriate, based on an agreed Individual Treatment Plan to assist them to attain their goals in relation to healthier use of alcohol and other drugs. Additionally, the Alcohol and Other Drugs Worker will participate in community development and health promotion programs in line with the needs of the local community.

The successful applicant will have a Certificate IV in Drugs and Alcohol or equivalent, extensive experience in the drug and alcohol field, experience in working with people of different experiences and backgrounds along with an interest in and commitment to community development and health promotion. Strong interpersonal, advocacy and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to assess client’s needs, and to design and implement treatment plans.

Position Description: Alcohol & Other Drugs Worker $51,100 per annum pro rata plus 9% Superannuation along with generous salary packaging benefits.
