How to Access Services

Drug and Alcohol Services can be accessed by contacting our Reception on (03) 5784 5555 and asking for Drug and Alcohol Intake.  The access service is available from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

If the line is busy or you are calling outside these hours please leave a message. We shall respond as soon as possible.

The Drug and Alcohol Intake worker will take details and provide feedback about possible waiting periods for services.  An assessment, to be completed by one of our team members, will be arranged. Once needs are identified appropriate treatment will be provided.

Drug and Alcohol services are available for people whose lives are affected by their own drug and alcohol use, or by those close to them including families and significant others.

Services are provided on an outreach basis in most towns in Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires and are generally provided at community based agencies but alternative arrangements can be made.

 

The following Drug & Alcohol services are available:

Counselling, Consultancy and Continuing Care

Provides a range of services and support appropriate to the needs of clients, including families and significant others, who have alcohol and drug use problems. Services provided may include information, counselling, referral and ongoing case management. Consultancy is available to workers in other fields.

Intensive Support and Supported Accommodation

Provides a supportive environment and intensive support to assist clients to develop skills to enable their reintegration into community living.

Rural Withdrawal Support Service

Provides supervised withdrawal at local hospitals and at home. Referral to detox agencies outside the region can also be organised if this is deemed appropriate.

Post Withdrawal Linkage Program

Links clients who have undertaken Drug and Alcohol withdrawal to local services.

Needle and Syringe Program

Aims to reduce the harm of drug use through the provision of clean needles, condoms & safe disposal for used needles.

Drug Diversion Initiative

This program works in partnership with Victorian Police to refer eligible clients to appropriate treatment services rather than the court system.

Health Promotion
