RecreAction Meets monthly

 

What the Group Does

 

 RecreAction is an action group established and facilitated by Rural Access. RecreAction works to increase the sport and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities. The group includes people with disabilities, interested community members, Rural Access, Broadcare, Access for All Abilities, Seymour Parent Support Group and Mitchell Shire Council. The group aims to Make sport and recreation accessible for all members of the community, Find out what people with disabilities want in sport and recreation, Advocate for increased access, Promote accessible options and promote the benefits of participation for all members of the community. 

Some of the achievements of RecreAction include the Food Unlimited guide, Staff disability awareness training at Leisure centres, International Day for People with disabilities, working with council on streetscapes and advocating for improved planning.
